Default Belt Drive/Brushless setups? Losi XXX-S????

Good morning, I recently ordered a Hobbywing 5.5 brushless combo....and am tossing around ideas as to what to drop this brushless combo in.

I just picked up a Losi XXX-S TC .....but I'm wondering how a fast brushless setup like this might take it's toll on the belt drive system. Has anyone ever ran a brushless system like this 5.5T in a belt drive car?

Any advice or opinions???

I know the TC3 would most likely be a better choice to use the brushless in....as it's shaft driven. Problem is, I really need to find a second TC3 to build as the one I currently have was my first real RC, and I don't want to butcher it from it's original setup.

Hey, there are 2 great threads on here for us xxx-s drivers. All your questions should be answered.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...n-mod-etc.html

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...k-classes.html

Hope they answer your questions. John Stranahans thread might be the better of the 2 for your motor choice. John is also an expert on really technical stuff and just plain knows what he's talking about.
Either way you should find some good info from any number of xxx-s junkies.

And as for that comment about the tc3......You'd have a hard time proving that to those of us who race this car and still win with it.

Hey THANKS for those links....I'll do some reading this evening

As for my TC3 comment....I'm definately not trying to say that it's superior to the XXX-S ......I'm just a newbie to a belt drive system......and need to research it's capabilities with a fast brushless system/torque.

I'm sure that those threads will enlighten me though

Yeah, I'm a few pages deep on one of those threads already....and learning so much I'm feeling much more confident in my Losi XXX-S purchase already

I picked up a nice used XXX-S package from a fellow RCtech member here last week....and it arrived Friday. I'm going through the car now and replacing a few things, getting a fresh body and wheels ready for it, and of course will be upgrading all of the electronics in it.

Looks to be a fun car.......I'm just new to the belt sedan stuff

I've beat on my TC3 for years and loved the car.......so this is my second touring car.

I must note that I've never once been on a track-----strictly just parking lot bashing
