How are you hooking the reciever pack up to the esc? I've been using a nimh pack and tried the SMC Lipo with good results and no issues. I use pins 4 & 5 on the speedo and run those to the battery. (4 neg. and 5 pos.) Rigged up a separate switch on the neg. side of the battery wire to turn on and off. Works great! Must remove jumper from pins 5 & 6.

You may also wanna replace the sensor-board in your motor, and the sensor harness to the motor if you haven't already. I know that those items should have no effect on rx packs, but it does. One of my racing buddies fried several rx packs with a different brand esc, changed speedos, rx, rx packs, sensor wire, stator.....long story short, he changed the sensor-board in the endbell, problem solved.....

wow not sure what the problem your having with receiver packs I just ran the halloween classic with the same 250mah thunderpower 7.4 lipo pack I bought last year for vegas. first time it's been charged since snowbirds in january and didn't have a lick of trouble out if it. just charged it at 2.5amps and plugged it back in to my receiver. now for club races I use the novak booster. just never like to hassle with the recharging of the pack for club races. just plug it into the receiver and it will power the BD that way.

Default booster instead of receiver pack

R U plugging the booster straight in to receiver battery slot What about the power thats coming from the BD via the red/black/white cable. This is also coming in to the receiver at a regulated 6v.

What about plug booster output straight on to pins 4 and 5 as if the booster was a receiver pack. Would that work.

Default Booster, here is the solution.

Author: Per Bengtzohn
Revision: V01B
Pin header options
The 4x2 pin header is used for many things and can be configured in many ways to allow different setups.
ON/OFF Switch/jumper
Pin 5 & 6 are connected with a jumper, this can be replaced with an on/off switch (option part)
RX pack connection:
Disconnect the jumper (Jumper is not used when rx pack is used). Connect the RX Pack + to pin 5 and RX Pack – to pin 4. The speedo will turn on when the RX Pack is connected. The internal BEC will supply the receiver with a regulated 6V. RX pack can be NimH 5 or 6cells, Life 2S (6.6V), Lipo 2S (7.4V).
Booster
Disconnect the jumper (Jumper is not used when booster is used). Connect booster to receiver, speedo will turn on when booster is turned on. (The jumper can be left on the speedo but the speedo will then turn on when main battery is connected or when booster is started).
FAN connection
A fan (option part) can be connected to the speedo and the pins 8 & 7 are used for this. Fan + connects to pin 7 and Fan – connects to pin 8.
1234
Receiver cable connects to the pins 1,2 & 3 according: 1 = Black 2 = Red 3 = White

are you running v1 or v2 . I sent my back to BD for upgrade to a v2 and it is just as fast as any tekin. I run 1/12 scale 17.5 and WGT 13.5 both are 1 cell lipo.
