With the Spektrum DX3R, + expo usually means less servo movement for more movement of the wheel or throttle. This effect progressively increases the movement of the servo/wheel or throttle, at a curve on a graph, that is determined by the % number, until full throw is achieved at the end of travel.

If some radios use - expo to mean the same thing, it would make things rather confusing, like Reinhard's use of -70.

?
to me, neg expo has always meant : less twitchy around neutral. Like a true exponential curve on a graphic; the x axis, being your driving wheel movement and the y axis being the servo movement.

"positive expo" is something I would rather refer to as logarithmic to avoid confusion.

Don't know about the DX3 though...

The only case in which I have heard of someone using a log steering curve is some 1/5th onroad drivers but I never got the occasion of witnessing this myself or talking to a very good 1/5 driver( that seems rare tbh )

Spektrum radio is backwards for expo.
