Battery setup on a Rustler VXL

I had just recently purchased a Rustler VXL from a buddy at work and looking to go Lipo it currently has a reddy 3800mah 8 cell and im looking to go faster but I am new to brushless so I came here for answers. Im looking to run something that is not just fast but safe to the onboard electronics. Thanx, Chad
