Sorry I wasn't around to answer your questions guys... was up at Speedworld Raceway in Roseville, CA for the Speedworld Cup!

Anyways,...

Lonestar-- the smart tray will effectively deepcycle/dead short your batteries... no need to make your own...unless you just feel the need to

Frank - The included wall adapter is for use state-side... I think the european versions ship without the wall adapter? just the pig tail??? We're working on a dual-voltage power supply...for use there and here

I was at a race today and seen aguy use the Novak tray.It vented 2 batteries twice.I was wondering if this happened to anyone else.It also burned the tray.I was going to get one but if this is happening i will wait till they get the bugs worked out.

I have had no problem with mine. I cant think of anything that would cause a cell to vent with a equalizer tray... I mean the pack is already almost dead and your only putting a 2.5 amp load on each cell... much less stress than it just saw in the car... how can you blame the tray?

What do you mean how do you blame the tray it happened while it was on the tray with one month old batteries.I'm not bashing novak.I'm planning on getting one myself.I just wanted to know if this is just a fluke or if it happened to anyone else.

did you happen to reverse the polarity by placing the batteries incorrectly into the tray?

I do not know.I just came up after it happened and asked how he liked it since I'm considering buying one.He only had it a week.I'm guessing he just got a bad one since I know a team driver who has had one for almost a year with no problems.

I think it really canīt be a problem with the tray.
Like MDawson already said the battery maybe was placed incorrectly into the tray. Because of this the 2 cells were shorted and this could affect the cells to vent and the tray to be burned.
I know because I also placed a battery incorrectly into my Robitronic tray. But I was lucky as I noticed the battery got very hot after some seconds and I quickly removed it so nothing bad happened.
