Looking for input here. 5 seasons ago I bought Duracell AA 2300 mAh batteries and built myself a 5 cell hump pack. Worked great. Ran my Hitec 5955TG servo with great performance. No complaints. Well I didn't cycle the pack and probably over 100 charges later I tried to cycle it and get only 600 mAh. Time for new pack. Found at LHS only sell sub size battery packs in 1500 mAh rating. I'm told that style battery allows for higher draw for motors and such but is the standard for receiver packs. I think I'd like to do the 2300 mAh again, but are the other style better? Everyone uses them. Any input would be appreciated.

If your car can hold 5aa batteries then just build another one, I like the duracell 2600 packs they work great, some companies make that style battery pre made, but building your own 2600 pack is the best way really. In my buggy there is only room for a stick pack so I use the ib1600 packs and they work great for me. I've never used lipo packs don't see the need in nitro racing.

if you dont have servos or a reciever that can handle lipo and u dont want to run a regulator .... life is what u need...

Thanks People!!! You've given me many options here. I found the regulators are quite small (muchmore looks to be nicest). I think I might try the lipo thing as I already have a balance charger. Given me lots to thing about.

Im running Protek Li-fe hump packs in both my rides this season.
