Nope! The TRF-LM car does not come with a body. The R8 kit is also the RS chassis.

pyscho - I switched my gears to 88/21 (64 pitch), I'm at about 4:1 with a RS 540, do you think I'll have some straight away speed? I placed 1 2 weeks ago with a 3:5 but had no straight away speed at all.

I think you are way overgeared and that's why you have no straightaway speed and, I assume, no acceleration either. I would gear between 5:1 and 6:1. I don't run 540 motors, but they should gear pretty similar to 27 degree stock motors. If you get the 100 tooth spur, you will have a lot more gearing options. 17T is the smallest pinion you will find and that would put you at 5.18:1 with your current spur. If you get the 100T spur, you will be up to 5.88:1 with a 17T pinion. I recommend 100T spur and getting 17, 18, 19 and 20T pinions. I think you should have every combination you'll ever need with those. Good luck! Anyone here run a CRC F1 car? I just got mine this week from my manager. He put all the IRS stuff on it (driveshaft, things that mount wheels...don't know name of them), lots of other cool stuff. What are some tips/tricks? anything to watch out for Thanks .

i have a crc f1 and really like it. theres nothing really to look out for except maybe that 2400's dont fit too well, they make the top deck flex up cos they are too big. i am trying to get a setup going were the top deck is held by body clips instead of screws so i can change batterys quicker. at the moment i have to carry a screw driver with me to change batterys and it takes a while.

My manager is a r/c GOD and he modified it so that 2400s and 3000s will fit. Just a few washers under the strap in the front where the two screws go. It looks like thats all he did. This F1 is ALOT faster than my tamiya was/is.

what tires are you running front and rear. also what ride height do you have in the front mine is real high and i am wandering if this is how it should be.

He gave me some kinda "black dots" with the car. I think they are by Jaco...not sure though...I willl ask him at the race tomorrow. My ride height isn't too high, 5.5mm in the front and 4mm in the rear.

Maybe you can help me out. I got out of the RC hobby a while ago, and i'm looking to get back in. I'm looking into getting an F1 car to mess around with. I wont be racing, just parking lot stuff. I do, however, want something fast that i'll be able to brag about should the need to hit the tracks arise. I love to tune and tweak and am pretty mechanically inclined, so i want something i can do some projects on rather than something that's ready for racing out of the box. To me, there's no fun in that. Also, it has to look killer and pretty realistic. What kind of F1 would you guys recommend for me? I know the tamiya f103 is pretty popular. Where can i find some good deals(i'm in the los angeles area if it helps anyone)? I'm also willing to order online. Finally, i'm budget minded, so nothing too expensive. Thanks a lot in advance, i really appreciate it.

Oh and i admire you guys for sticking with F1 even though it isnt as popular as say touring cars. When i first started i was in the rally class, which wasnt too popular at the time, so i kinda know how it feels.

al i think im more around 6.5 in the front the car seems to be handling real well so im not complaining. g force going by what you said maybe a cross f1 would suit you well. it is more adjustable then the tamiya and looks real nice aswell. i dont know what you mean by realistic but i spose the tamiya and cross are more realistic then the crc and corally in that you run rubber tires as aposed to foams and that you can even put on grooved tires.

gforce: tamiya has the new F201 - it has inboard shocks and grooved rubber tires (just like the real thing), and shaft driven 4wd. but i think it will be more expensive than the previous tamiya F1. if budget is a concern, i think the older version will be your choice because of its simplicity - lesser parts to maintain. i used to have an F102 and my only expense was buying foam tires, and later more expensive F1 rubber tires. even with the stock 540 motor, its quite fast because of its efficient drivetrain and light weight. if youre going to run on unmaintained parking lots, the F201 may be easier to drive because it is 4wd and has oil-damped shocks at each corner.
