Default 1/12 Scale pan non-traditional bodies

Does anyone have links and pics to some non-traditional 1/12 pan car bodies? Basically looking for ones that looks like sedans, muscle cars, etc. versus the standard types, for when just messing around.

Someone does make the old Corvette bodies and Porsche bodies as well. There was some talk locally(here) when VTA took off for a 12th scale class with non wedge bodies....it never got off the ground. But a local racer did have a bunch of non wedge bodies that he got from someone who had all the molds to make the older bodies....Im not sure who the person was that he got them from....but there are some out there.

thanks for the info. Will have to do some digging then.

Wonder if a VTA style 1/12 could be fun? maybe a place to go with the 21.5s that will not be legal soon in USVTA, on 1S?

I found a link:

The guy you are looking for is mr.lexan on ebay. He has a ton of old molds, including the Bolink Greenwood Corvette, which is AWESOME on a 1/12 car...the same guy Kevin is talking about had one and dropped it on the car clear-it was still bad to the bone.

Bolink also had a Dodge Charger body for 1/12th pan cars.

That said...these bodies never really caught on because the cars don't handle well enough to be fun with these bodies. You'll need a much softer rear tire to balance out the lack of aerodynamics which means more tire wear.

Kawada make a good 911 Turbo.Be used then for a BRCA demo a couple of years ago at the Autosport show.
I can't find a picture right now, they looked ok and much to our suprise the handling was not too bad.

McAllister has a current offering of a Camaro they say will fit most current 1/12th chassis. Part number MCA266 on Stormer's website.

We are running a class of 1/12th NASTRUCKS on our small high banked carpet oval. They are fast and look great on the track. Not exactly what you asked for but definitely different. Windtunnel makes the body.

Here is my Bolink Greenwood Corvette
I screwed up the wheel wells but the next one will look better.

I am painting a TOJ now also.

Also Delta Plastik in Italy has some nice 1/12th bodies, expensive but nice. They are a little different than the Mr Lexan bodies, some of the pictures of the Mr Lexan body molds have taller side wings than what they had. I think Boilink changed some of the molds to make them perform better before Mr Lexan got his hands on them.

One thing about using older bodies is the wheel base and width has changed a bit so do not expect them to drop right on newer chassis cars,a little extra thinking is involved.

The 1/12th toj was made by associated. Bolink molds - contact wind tunnel. I've got a brand new in the bag 1/12th F1 body by associated. and a bunch of old race bodies hanging in the r/c room.

Kawada makes GT bodies that fit 1/12 scale pan cars... You'll have to fab the body posts, but they make the Lexus SC430, the Honda HSV 10, and a few others... http://www.rceasy.com/2007/11/20/kawada-m300gt-2/
