I never tried these vented bells on 1/8 scale offroad, do you guys use them?

Yes... I really like them. The only risk is if you have a sloppy pit guy.

I use the vented bells too.
I know some guys don't want to take the risk of anything getting into the clutch through the holes, but I haven't had any issues like that yet. One other bonus is that it's now easy to see when I need to de-bur the shoes.

I have seen that my shoes last longer with a vented bells. I have also seen/feel that my rear disk holds up longer too. Must be producing less heat in that area or something.

Doesn't very small bits of dirt gravel get in there and damage the bell and shoes faster than standard bells?

think about it the bell is spinning very fast and there is alot of wind turbulance there so the dirt will follow the wind away from the clutch. the heat also follows to.

I do so much clutch maintenance that I could really care less to be honest. If I had to make a choice though, I'd probably go with the solid bell.
