This was my 4th race ever with a rubber TC and the spec tire was Solaris Hard. It was the No Trophy race at Jackson. I have very little experience and started running TC this year. In this video I'm on the pole in the 17.5T B Main (yellow car/black race stripes). I didn't use tire warmers (don't own one) and only used Tweak/Grip. I won the B Main, which only proves what others are saying.

BTW, I used the same set for Qual's 2, 3 and for the main. No re-gluing was needed or signs of drastic wear.

EJ, you have a good product on your hands.

I used the Solaris pro version on Saturday for the first time. I tried the 35's and then the 40's with in 1 hour and 15 time frame and the track was consistant. The track temp was around 123 both times. I felt and time wise that the 35's work the best only by 1 ten a lap faster and over all 1.3-1.6 seconds in qualifier faster than the 40's. They both were stuck and what was weird was the 40's I thought would of freed up the car and they didn't so that shows me that the 40's tires can work a little better in hotter conditions and that's a plus. I was pleased with the out come and the tires did not change from start to finish and show no wear on first run. I was running 17.5 on a 170 x 68 track size.

Thanks E.J. for the help.

Those are suggested temp ranges in Celsius.

I have been running Solaris tires for a couple months now and have really liked them. This weekend we had a two day race.(NWIC) It was open 32 tire. So of course I brought a couple pairs. One for practice and one for quals and mains. The track was running winter green paragon.

Class run was 17.5 no timing.

During practice the car was just on edge but running on pace for the first 2 min or so then it would calm down and i would be 2-3 tenths off..

So I tried the othe set.. same thing..

A mod driver handed me a used set of speed passions. My times were 2 tenths quicker and the car was consistant through out the race..

I did change my set up but the samething would happen.. Dont get me wrong the car felt great it just took about a min or two before it would calm down. Not to sure if it was the Paragon, or ???? I use Jack at the local track and haven't had this happen.

Have you guys had any issues with this before?

Thanks.

What tire would you recommend for some low grip carpet, 17.5 Stock TC, warehouse set up where the temp in the winter rarely exceeds 75F?

Thanks.

I think the soft compound will work best for us Buckaroo. I haven't had a chance to run the new rims yet on the carpet, but I'll have some soon.

Glad to hear you have been enjoying Solaris tires. You mentioned "Speed Passion" tires. Did you mean Speed MIND tires, these should be faster than Solaris basically anywhere anytime. The Solaris tires are great at giving what they are intended for. Affordable, consistent, reliable spec tire racing. Races that allow any brand of tire with a "Spec" compound or shore rating are not a "Spec" race at all. It only takes on person to bolt on some high end hoops to change the game for everyone.
