I am going to have to test the buggy with these ball cups on there, but I anticipate turnbuckles popping off for sure.
HPI 4.8mm ball studs and Kyosho gray ball cups...$$$$. Car is very good but ball cups suck.

Default Front Hex Mod

Stealing the idea from Jeremy Harris. Thanks man!

Here are the parts I used.
Team Durango Steering Knuckle Set (2) [TDR330382]
Kyosho Steel Axle Shaft Set (RB5 WC) (2) [KYOUM569]
Team Durango 5x10x4mm Ball Bearing Set (4) [TDR601002]
Kyosho 5x7mm Aluminum Servo Saver Collar Set (Blue) (4)[KYOW0149]

The axial was a little to long for me so I cut them down. Below you can see one that I cut and one uncut. It is a pretty easy mod. Took me about 15 min cutting down the axials.

I will be now

Just makes it little easier to run the same 12mm hex as all the other buggys.

Looks like you used different shims? Is the front track width still the same? I used wider gold ones that I had to buy separately.

I actually have not bolted them on the car yet It looked like you used a 4mm shim on the hex side. I cut the axials down leaving 5mm of adjustment. In the pictures I only have a 2mm shim on the hex side.

I'm planning on running this car over the winter. What are some suggested hop ups if any? Also should I pick up other springs? And what pinion do you suggest with an Orion 8.5 using the stock spur?
I'll be running indoor on a tight track with med to high bite and normal size jumps.
Thanks in advance. I'm really looking forward to running this car.

A couple of more questions....
-Do I need a low profile servo or will say a Futaba 451 work?
-Do I need a shorty pack such as the Trakpower 4400 shorty?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to cover all my bases... Or most of them!

Tresrey cf rack and aluminum RF pivot block are must haves.

Add to that some CF front and rear towers and the car is about bulletproof.

Stock springs are suited more for MM setup, so if you plan on running RM I would get the next couple firmer for the rear and softer for the front. If I remember right we had dk green rear and Black front.

/\ Thanks Jonny!

As for the gearing, I actually have a 9.5T Orion....

And is a standard servo and the Trakpower shorty going to fit without problems? Even if I use different motor mount positions?

Gearing u will have to play with some but watch your temps. I run a 10.5 and am using 25/78 gearing. That's fine for me now.

Servo, standard is fine.

Battery, TrakPower shorty is an awesome battery. That's what I run. It gives you room for weight adjustment, by moving it forward or back. Just need to add foam to the tray. I run mine all the way forward.
