We just need to hang a little longer. If Doughty says they are working on a few things then why would they dump the whole line??? Doesn't make sense. Maybe Hobbico is trying to unload them to somebody else?? I like running different and the 210 series are cars have been good to me. Will wait and see. If not then we will all jump ship I guess.

Still love my Durango fleet and still working on them, when i can find the time to!

I have been posting some of my modifications a fiew weeks ago, here are some further process pictures, it is, as you can see, a 210F chassis, with the original 210 gear box fitted in it, may i will construct my own chassis out of carbon fiber!?
I will see...

It is still all prototype at this Stadium and not tested, but like it, and the original 210F Body allready fits almost, or better, only have to make a litle bubble in the Body to cover the spur gear.
There will be allot of room, for battery/electrics configuration...

Process is getting slow, but it gets and if you are interrested in, let me know and i will update and show some more detailed pictures?

What is your reasoning to want to go with a standard transmission and not just run the 210f the standard way? Just curios!!

That is a long story, wired for some reason too and you all may call me crazy!?

First of all, i like to tinker around on my cars and i always wanted to decouple the suspension from the transmission housing, i think i wrote that here in a post about a year ago, or so, than i saw the first spy shots of the 210F and i liked the shape of the car very much, it does have a realy nice flow! I never liked those cap forward, or stelth looking cars/bodys....
I do not like shaft driven 2wd cars too, never drove one, it is just an personal fealing and it is for sure a good layout on many kind of tracks here in europe?
I also dont like real layed down cars, also just an personal fealing...

Than the first pictures apeared, from chris doughtys and karel novotnys car with some more details, so i could see, the suspension was like the 410 at the 2WD car and i started to messure around on my 210 and 410 and i realized, that the outer diameter of bearing housing on the 2wd gear box is exactly the same as that one from the 410 and i started to cut and grind my old 210v1 gearbox and thestfited it into the bulkhead of the 410 and it fited
Than the 210F was released and i wanted to buy some parts of it, like the chassis, chassis stiffeners, rear bulkhead parts and rear suspensin parts but they would have cost me more than the hole kit, so i decided to get the kit and only use the parts i will need.

That was the beginning of my work in some short words...

For that People, who are interrested, here are some Pictures of the modified gear box, within and out of the car!
that pictures where not from the finish parts, i also cuted off the top rear brace and had to grind a bit more off of the front bottom edge to realy fit it into the car and as you may can see i have to cut off the middle lower section of the rear shock tower...

If i had the skills, i would like to creat my own gear box, as i only run 3 gear, so it would be more compact, than the stock one!

If Durango are working on new cars and IF a new 2wd is one of them, I'd suspect it would look something like a 210F with a laydown gearbox (with a standard gearbox as an option) and easy to access diff. It would make sense to use the rear end from that car. I don't see many changes to the front end other than a steering geometry change. Unfortunately if that car ever came out, we'd probably never be able to find replacement parts for it.

that actually would be pretty cool. I liked the dex210F I had enough that I was very curious to see what they could do with it as the basis of the platform. And I recall the discussion about the pills from that vehicle being for future geometry changes.

There is a guys that is running a B5 Diff in his car here locally. But in order to do that he had to do a bunch of shimming, and he also had to switch to the B5 drivelines and axles. He said it was a pain but it allowed him to run the MIP pucks in his car.

+1 other than the snap clip thing the ball and gear diff setup I liked

I have had no issues with either other than tightening down diff cover screws too tight and cracking the cover. Once I learned how to break in a ball diff correctly these DURANGOS hold up better than my old associated. I don't know about the new ones (B6). DON'T use ceramic diff balls. Carbon only. Ok to use ceramic in diff screw assembly.

Same here. Now I have a really nice pair of Channel Lock snap ring pliers now so I don't mine the the snap c clip anymore.
