I cant see a fan that sucks hot air out work any better than a fan blowing air onto it.

You can get passive heatsinks (no fan) for computer CPU's and chipsets, try finding a 'fan only' design......you won't

Posting on behalf of a friend of mine, any ideas how to mount twin cooling fans for the motor? I personally do not own a TA05 chassis and therefore appreciates any ideas on this matter... The more the merrier as the saying goes...

Oh and it would be best with pictures for examples too...

The LRP/Nosram heat sink is the best and has a larger 30mm fan.
I put some heat transfer paste inbetween the brushless motor and my heatsink.

Best fan to me is the Surpass Rocket. It has a speed of 28,000rpm and casing is made of aluminum which also serves as a heat sink. Very cheap too at $10 only.

It's been 11 years. I hope they have resolved their fan question by now.

For some strange reason, this thread popped up in the front page of the General Forums so I thought of sharing that fan.

I've done extensive research into this particular topic. The short is that most production heat shrinks for rc motors are useless, and some actually hold in the heat... a good fan is paramount, some guys like fan shrouds as well, which keeps the air directed onto the motor. If you need a mount for a fan, there are a dozen different answers that are much cheaper.

I agree heatshrinks keep heat in on modern motors as block the holes and it’s better to cool the inside then just the can but back in the day when we had no holes in the can they might of helped. A good ducted fan into the motor is best is you using a fan but a good fan by it self will still enough

I like these little fans

Tornado Twistex 30MM Shrouded Cooling Fan
