dougie, no it isn't a part that is available. It needs making. There are many ways of doing it. Personally i have drilled right through the outdrives and screwed them together. I am told that if you take the balls out and put 2 layers of card in, that works - but i don't know. The crude way is just to glue it all together!!

I have my spool built just like minicooper said but I left the balls in the gear I did not want to run the risk of it not being the correct width, as the balls rest on the rings and if you remove the balls the outdrives will be that much shorter. When I run mine which is most of the time I never wear out the blades like others are having trouble with. I also run the plastic bones as they bend and are cheaper to replace then metal ones b/c you will bend or break them with the spool in the car when you hit stuff.

James likes Shumacher, I like associated. Shumacher, when they paint them the paint is not sanded off so it makes the bottom and top of the spring unstable. Both are good, I just consider myself lazy and run associated.

All who run AE springs: Do you guys just flip the adjusting nut over on the threaded shock to get the adjustment down far enough? I know the red Schuie spring is 20lb and the blue AE is 17, but they feel the same to me. The red AE (22lb) feels stiffer than the red Schuie. I suppose it doesn't matter except on the track, but I was just curious if anyone noticed this.
Oh, one last question: are any of your Schuie springs shorter than others? My red are like one coil shorter than the blues and greys... just curious
