I was thinking of using the SPGT and the 2.5 around a 5.0 FDR and see what kind of speeds I can get

By the way the Marcos, the SPGT is a pretty nice speedo, we ran a sensor based motor with and without the sensor wire. You could literally feel the difference but you could run it either way...I was impressed

All that will do is burn your motor up fast. There is only so much gear any motor can take. Usually the track you run on limits this because the motor still has to have the gearing to accellerate out of tight corners. If you go past that all you get is heat and no more speed. A 2.5 on 6 cells should be geared around a 10.00 to start out. Then you can gear up from there checking lap times and motor heat to get to the limit.

FYI, most 6 cell guys run a 4.5 and thats pretty insane. The 5 cells guys run 3.5's and go faster then the 6 cell guys.

Cool 4.20

last year we ran the 13.5 in the 160 to 180 range @ my local track I run it 140 to 150..This is true U can over gear the motor and get nothing but heat same lap times and more motor heat ..rubber tire it's like 114/39 I will see what 4.20 range doe's soon as I dont have my 96 spurs yet..I will post what I find..

It is fast! :P

Ran that ratio and lap times dropped. I didn't temp but I know a good number of people running that around here. I'm pretty sure Trackside and The Track are bigger then Allens or where you run...not positive. I just gear up till it cannot fit :P j/k

Ah yes the sleek humorous undertones.....or is it underwear?

Either way I was being a bit overzealous with the FDR claims.

Just had to deal with that last weekend. My quick answer, not yet. Last track I ran on was so low grip that no change I made to the suspension could be felt. We were pretty much drifting on the track. I'd get 1/4 the way down the straight at 1/2 throttle and the tires would light up.
