Another Update on my Axis2...

Well guys, I went and raced at SRS in Scottsdale again tonight...Got there late, and was unable to run ANY practice packs...with the Stratus body, it had a bit more steering going into the sweeper at the end of the straightaway, but still seemed to push a bit in the infield, and was fairly easy to get loose at the same...I went back to the pits after the first heat, and moved both front and rear upper A-Arm mount into the upper position...they were both in the lower mount, per Adrian's setup sheet...WHOA...what a difference...the car has tons of high and low speed steering, and there was only one spot on the track where it started to get a little loose...I LIKE IT!! This was what I was looking for!! I wouldn't have guessed that moving that pivot point up would have made THAT mch of a difference...Anyone know why it reacted to the changes the way it did??

If I can get my head out of my butt, and get some serious practice in next friday, I think I'll be pretty competitive... I'm the only Schumacher now...My buddy defected to Losi tonight!

AZ Ron what kind of setup are you using? I got a setup from one of the factory guys over here and I am still strugling with the setup.

Default My Current Setup

Here's the setup I'm at right now...
This is for a medium grip Asphalt track sprayed with Soda...I'd like just a LITTLE more rear traction without losing any steering...any suggestions?

Front:
Shock tower-3
Upper Hub Ball-1
Steering arm-1
Upper a-arm mount-1
Lower suspension arm-1
Hinge pin mount-2 deg
Oil-60wt
Spring-Blue
Piston-2 holes on Vari piston
Spacer-none
Length-66mm
Droop-2.5mm
Anti-Roll Bar-None
Castor-10 deg, one spacer in front and behind the upper a-arm mount
Toe in-.5 Deg Toe-Out
Ride Height-5.0mm
Camber-0 deg
Lower wishbones-stock, rear position
Driveshafts-Metal Universals

Rear:
Shock tower-1
Upper Hub Ball-1
Upper a-arm mount-1
Lower suspension arm-1
Hinge pin mount-2 deg
Oil-60wt
Spring-Blue
Piston-2 holes on Vari piston
Spacer-none
Length-66mm
Droop-2.5mm
Anti-Roll Bar-None
Anti-squat-none, blocks flat on chassis
Toe in-2.5 deg
Ride Height-5.0mm
Camber-1.5 deg
Lower wishbones-stock, mid position
Driveshafts-stock, plastic CVD type

Motor-Green Machine 3 (25/86)
Drive Pulley-15T
Body- Opel Vectra (I think!)
One Way-None
Front Tires-Sorex 32
Rear Tires-Sorex 32
Inserts-Sorex Medium A's
Tire Traction-Paragon Ground Effects

This setup REALLY came around from the original setup when I moved the upper Hinge Pin mounts to hold #1 from hole #2.

Default setup

I did a liile digging and found a couple of setups you probably found the one ones at schumacher. I also called a got a setup but I am still struggling with it. I know most of it is my driving and not knowing what to look for. How do you like that hudy setup board I am shopping around for one mabe that will help me get a little closer to being dialed in.

Default Oops...

I should have deleted the reference to the Hudy deal in that posting...I just edited it...I'm using an Associated Ride Height Guage, and the Integy Setup Station...the Integy deal is very nice...only thing that suck is you have to by the metric wheel nuts in order to use the caster indicators...with the Axis 2, Caster is either 7.5, 10, or 12.5 I believe, so you don't really need the caster indicators...I've been using the regular Axis2 wheelnuts.

Hey guys, I was going to be picking up a Mission pretty soon. I was wondering do you guys know what the part number is to the Posi-screw driver that Schumacher sells. I couldn't find it on their website.

I've been running Schumacher ever since their first TC and never bothered to get the right screw driver. So I figured I would go ahead and do it now.

Thanks for any help you can give.

RC Raptor...We run an Asphalt track, sprayed with cheap soda from the local Grocery store...28's were used when it was cool out...now we're into the upper 70's and 80's, so 32's are it...Apparently after it hits 100 degrees here, we'll be running 36's...

DarkSeide...here are two numbers I found for the PosiDriver...

U1261I Pozi Screw Driver No 1

W31310 Wiha pozidrive screwdriver

Default Mission Question

Anyone out there running a Mission on small to medium Asphalt tracks?? If so, how are you doing with them?? What do you think?

Default Pozi

I picked up a #1 carbide Pozi bit from www.wihatools.com
They also sell regular steel pozi bits and scewdrivers.

The carbide bit has been working great. Much better
bite than the smaller wiha screwdriver.

Are you running the 17 or the 20t pulley? Is your track open or tight?
