they are better for pretty much everything. there probably more consistant and the sidewall of the tire doesnt buckle as easily. AKA came up with the inserts and they are a good place to start.the differance should be obvious after your first run.

Aka's are on the harder side...which some do not like.....I Myself from time to time run a Standard Open cell foam for the extra cushion it provides on rougher tracks....foams are a tuning option that should not be overlooked.

my opinion on closed cell is they are a good tuning option but on hard dusty tracks u will find sometimes they will make your car feel twitchy and wen you come of of a jump the car may act a lil un predictable (referig to AKA ) the proline are a little more forgiving (Softer ) but do work well at keeping the sidwall stable both help tire ware and over all traction and you will notice a flt ware pattern on your tires which will increse consistancy in handling

no density...the black EVO2's are a lot softer then the blue V1's.

Hi guys,

i used the blue V1s from proline in Thailand, the track was a high bite and the car felt different from the nomal foams, stable, turns better and jumps straighter, they are more balanced than normal foams and tires seem to last longer with the closed cell.

now, my questions, is it possible to run V2s from proline with AKA tires??

cheers

Ali

From an engineers point of view and this is only my opinion no one else's it's just another foam insert to be sold that's it .You can make the normal poly foam work the same way by doubling the bead to cover the whole tyre wall area so you can min side wall flex .

tyre lasting longer? i dont think so as a hard foam would kill a tyre quicker compared to a soft foam. Type of Track surface is what kills your tyre's ,temp and materials used a tyre that doesnt wear also doesnt work . etc they are the factors that detemine tyre life .most say my tyres are still new but have a close look at the tips of the tyres once your finished running and you will see there are no tips left which mean's your tyres are gone.

you can but not the other way around....AKA foams do not have the rib cutout's and the tire(proline) would ride on top of the foam.

True, you can use them, but the profile of the tire would change...I dont know if that would be a good thing or not. The guys at AKA have spent a lot of time developing their tires, and they are shaped the way they are for a reason. If you take a flat profile tire, and give it a round profile, something is going to change.

You would have to try it both ways...two sets of the same tire/compound, in identical track conditions, with each set of tires equipped with the different foams and see which one you like better and how it affects your lap times.

Myself, because I don't want to screw around with potentially wasting time and money on a setup that doesn't end up working for me, I now stick with tire/wheel/foam all of the same brand just to play it safe.
