thanks guys for all the suggestions i have finally made up my mind. im gonna go with the werks b5. cheap and race proven.

Jeremy Kortz just won the Expert Gas 1/8 buggy at the J-Concepts open with a bone stock WERKS B5, He has been winning a lot of races with it.So that should tell you its fast and reliable
But there are a lot of good engines out there and a lot of not so good and everyone has a different opinion.

do you think i should go with the 2013 pipe from werks for the b5? they recommend it but ive also heard the jammin jp-1 pipe does good with the b5. the jp-1 is a little cheaper but if the werks pipe does better with the b5 ill go with that. does anyone know?

Twill9109, first of all thank you for deciding to go with one of our engines. Retarding yor pipe choices please take a look at our B5 thread on here. If you flip through a couple of pages you will find a lot of good info regarding pipe testing that has been done by users (so it's unbiased) that should help point you in the right direction!

I have a B5 and race with atleast 5 locals that have it, everyone is very happy with it. Most that I know of are running a 2013 pipe.

if you had to choose between the werks b5 or the jammin jpx .21 engine.what would you get.what has more top end.it wont be used for racing just want to know.

hey guys.. i just ordered the werks b5. it should be in my hot bodies d8 sometime next week. i also got the jammin jp-3 pipe. now my next obstacle is breaking the engine in and then tuning it.

Just bought a Mugen mbx6 and need a motor. This is my first nitro, but have been running electric B44 and SCT for 3-4 months. I am looking into purchasing on of these engines: Novarossi N21R-BF Limited Edition .21 $150, Alpha F850 $199, or Dynamite xp .24 $85. All of them are new. I like the price of the Dynamite .24 (truggy motor), but a few people have told me the it is a little too much power. What are your recommendations?

Alpha F850 best all round buggy engine out there at the minute!!
Amazing bottom end punch, screaming top end 11 - 12 minute run times with the right pipe!! No need for any other engine in a buggy!!

The Jammin doesn't get the best mileage and the rods don't always last very long, but I doubt any stock engine can hang with it.

Vowbeachbum i would go with the Werks B5 its a great engine and the support from Werks Racing and Ron is some of the best hands down.

I have the Nova BF21, good motor, easy to tune, has lasted a long time. I then went with the V-spec, first one I ingested dirt and it was done, second one I went with the EB mods one, great motor, still ripping with it. I just recently bought a WERKS B6, I havent broken it in yet but from the reviews I have seen I wont be dissapointed.
229.00 for a sweet mill, can't go wrong. I am pumped to run a Werks motor for this upcoming season

I have seen the weeks b5 do very well at the track. The ninja and os vspec might be too much power and hard to control. I started running a buggy in august and I put a speed engine in it. It has taken me a few months to get it under control. I even put a 5.5 restrictor in it to help out. The speed engine has too much power for a buggy, perfect in the truggy though. The nova +4 is a good choice. Idk too much about the Orion engines but if you stick with a good mfg you will be happy.

Just can't sell one of them speeds eh frank I think people are catching on that they can buy 2 1/2 $200.00 motors for the price of one speed, and get the same run time and life out of it. Heck the os 2060 pipe is another motor LOL
