Hey guys

Well I have seen similar threads but not exactly as specific of how you maintain your vehicle? Just wondering what you guys rebuild and how often for racing every weekend? And any other relevant stuff.

For example rebuild all shocks and diffs every 4 weeks...

everybody on here changes things diffrent on here ,with diff oil etc.
i change my diff oil about. 4 races depending on how dusty the track is,
on the shocks if the track is rough proberty 4 races also.


as for the clutch bearings i just check them after a week of raceing and if, there smooth no need to replace them. and i do check the wheel bearings, and diff bearings and i do the same with them also.

I rebuild my shocks after every couple of races, and I rebuild my diffs every 5 races or so.

I try and check all the bearings every race. Wheel bearings and clutch bearings especially

you will find that the cleaner you keep your car the less bearing replacement and rebuilds you will have to do

Its amazing how many items you find need replacing and you dont even know it. I was rebuilding my diffs and found 4 parts other than the diffs that needed replacing.

I tear my entire car down to the chassis every outdoor race, I cant stand the dirt everywhere

Indoors on hard clay I will go for a month or so though.

I tried it and it actually works well. What I usually do is just remove radio tray and gas tank and engine and then I hose it all off on super high power. Gets rid of all the dirt, then blow off with Air compressor, and I will immediately spray all bearings with WD-40. Then I give everything a close inspection. If its all good, I will use Kal-gard on all the plastics and brush it fine, and then re-assemble. Engine gets plugged up and sprayed with simple green and then aired off. The dishwasher worked great but it takes too long and soaking my bearings like that is not something I find too smart, but The one time I tried it it came out looking brand new. I will also say that with the Kal gard prep and shine, I only need to disassemble and clean it every 2-3 race days. Dirt will all come off really easy with a brush and air compressor after the Kal-gard has been applied

okay i might be a bit freak about this but i do the following after each race, it makes me feel good about the car and 100% sure that nothing is wrong, if i loose the race, its my bad not the car's

1- remove engine/ servo tray
2- spray car with water (to remove the dirt and dust)
3- spray the car with Simple Green and let it sit for 5 minutes
4- respray the car with water to remove the simple green
5- dry it with air (compressor)
6- spray WD40 on all bearings and steering post (if you are not going to take the car apart)
7- take the whole car apart
8- clean all bearings (take the rubber seal out and clean with gasolin, relube them and put the seals back)
9- inspect all parts for wear and change when you have a doubt (plastic and shafts)
10- new diffs oil (every 2 races)
11- new shocks oil (every race)
12 clean the engine, check for any loose screws, check the clutch shoes, replace clutch bearing (every race)
13 reassemble the car and you have a brand new out of the box car again
