RCRuse.. I am not sure this problem can be fixed you have a plastic diff and a steel/aluminum dog bone.. the plastice flex's causing the dog bone to come out. there has to be some give somewhere. since the dog bone is not bending the diff is, only solution is steel or aluminum diffs, then the dogbone will bend, i think it is the same with about every car out there that use's non sliders etc...

Default TC3 Oval Setup

Carpet season is almost over in NC. and there is a small concrete oval that plans to run a touring class. The track has 60' straights and is banked 9degrees. I was wondering if you had a starting point on the chassis and shock setup.

Thanks

Paul

Default Motor temp

Mike
I am running a stock racer kit 72 spur 28 pinion rebuildable stock motor 27 turn (I think?) 2400 stick packs and the motor sure seems to get hot. What kind of motor temps are normal for stock and mod?
Thanks.

Default Shock Setting

Mike:

I am using your setup from the 2004 Snowbirds on my TC3 and the problem that I am running into with the threaded shocks is that I can not get the ride height down to 5mm. I am using the rear shock tower on the front with exactly how you state to have them mounted. With shocks threaded all the way in the best that I can get is about 6.25mm for ride height. Any help would be great as I had composite shocks on and had it at 5mm and it handled like it was on rails.

I had same problem and solved it by cutting about 1/8" off the rod end so the spring cup will drop, lowering the car.

I think youll need to use a shim on each of the three screws that hold the shock tower onto the trans. case. What I use are the shims/spacers the kit came with for the servo. I simply cut the 'O' part off of each side of the spacer and it works great. You will need 3 of course so you will use 2 spacers of the same thickness. Their thickness is about 2.5mm, at least the ones Im useing are. Hope this helps.

That will work, but remember it alters roll center too.

Mike,

Can you stop out Thursday night at the Gate-even if for only 1 hour? I am running mod with a Tc3 and could use your help.

Thanks,
Ray

Mike

On the TC4..If I add more shims to the arm mounts is that raising or lowering the roll center?

Does lowering the roll center give you more or less traction? The AE manual is contradictive.

Thanks

Default Mike B...

Any idea if AE plans to make some changes to the TC4 chassis? I wanted to know if the new GP 3700 cells will fit into the current one?

Mike, not sure if you answered this before, but anyay I just got a 12L4 and plan on using it outside on asphault with medium traction and its kind of tight. Do you have a good set up or can point me in the right direction to one. Temperatures should be mild (70ish) for this time of year. I tend to drive cars that aren't too agressive, just fairly neutral.

I've just seen a list of entries for next weekend's LRP masters.

This is now accepted as one of the "big ones".

Every manufacturer is sending it's very best.

Tamiya have Reinhard, Spashett, Mauzemi, the lot.

X Ray have gone over board as usual with 3 drivers from the USA to help their strong team of Europeans. The biggest team in terms of works drivers.

HPI have Hara, Surikarn, Moore, and others.

Losi are sending Kinwald, Hodge and Francis to back their European team.

Yokomo are even sending Masami.

So why are AE not sending Baker, Blackstock and Drescher.
