Yea you can run a 2s lipo with a GT7. Just remember you don't have a low voltage cutoff, so when the car slows down stop!!!

I've used my 2c lipos lots of times with a GT7. I just got one of those battery alarms off Ebay for $5. They just plug into the sensor wire and when the voltage gets to 6.6v I think it is it'll go off. Makes it easy to stop then and there small.

You could also use Novak's Smart Stop for 2S lipos.
I use it and it is a beauty!
