Default electric start woes!

ok so i have an electric start on my truck, for some reason it slips, it will turn the engine over once than the electric motor just revs, so i took it apart and the electric starter is fine, its that one way bolt on the engine shaft, that freewheels one way but engages the other, if i use my hand it turns the engine over, but if i engage the electric start halfway and watch the bolt it just spins freely after turing the engine over once, so i found a quick cure, if i took the bolt of the engines shaft and soak it with nitro fuel and re install it, it works fine for a few hours! but then it will slip the next day again, why is this? why does the nitro make it work? how does that little bolt thing actually work? thanks again,
