Hello
Just bought 2 MMP , they should be at my door step next week.
The question is are the MMP competative with the likes of the Tekin?.
I am asuming from what i have read that the MMP is better suited for short to medium tracks.
And what motor for 17.5 and 10.5 would run the best.
X12 seem to have plenty of torque (so i should be able to gear up a bit more)
SP v2 has good RPM (so i should be able to gear down to suit the track)
Tekin well its the middle of the road ????
This will be the track i will be running on at the end of the month

The MMP can definitely hang with and beat tekins What motor you end up running is preference really, Ballisitcs, Duo1/2s and X12s seem to be popular at the moment. In my car right now im running a Ballistic 17.5, 45* timing on ESC, 1.5 slashes advanced on the motor, and 5000-15000 RPM. All I can say is the car has mega rip

For a track that size id say start at a 6.5 FDR, and go from there. My track has a 120ft straight and I run a 6.3 FDR, motor runs 180* with a fan

I think the Speed Passion would probably be a good bet. I use one myself and since changing from a Novak that has a 12.3mm rotor as stock, to a SP Version 1 with a 12.5mm stock rotor in it, the brakes are much better and this esc generally seems to work better with motor timing left stock and geared down with high esc timing. (This is my experience anyway)

The SP V2 has the same specs and rotor as the V1, so if I were you, i'd get that or a Trinity Duo as that is virtually the same but with adjustable timing.

I run a close timing start and end to geeunit1014 - 3,000 - 15700 (or around that ballpark). As that seems to smoothen the thing out. Anything with a much smaller gap seems to surge the timing too much initially.

speed passion v2 motors have 12.3mm rotors im pretty sure.

you cant go wrong with any motors these days, except I and a few others have had problems with speed passion v3.

Not general I understand.

I am using SP 9.5T V3 and so far so good.

My team mate is using a SP 5.5T V3 and last weekend in a club race with some of the better nacional drivers he made TQ and finished second. So I would say so far so good, too.

But the season is just starting so let us see what we will find out later.

P.S. what we felt is a major situation is we had to move the start power to High (we were feeling the need of power), and use the cheat mode of course with any motor turns, and then work with the timing.

I see you must of figured out your MMP a little more. Very cool as I might have to try that setup with my Ballistic. Might go one tooth smaller but thats about it. Good setup info for future running fo rmy with my Ballistic.

Yezzir Very happy with it now. Makes Tekin powered cars look dumb getting onto the straight, good top end as well. I would go down a bunch of teeth for the C (GB is bigger), but its very very good now.

Iknew you wouldget it figured out. I will be messing with it again in about 2 weeks when we go to T&L to run. Maybe I will get the Ballistic out for that track and see how it goes.

I Hope castle will have some new software soon, the Speed Passion / Hobby Wing speedo's with the new 410 and 422 software just blew us Mamba's away this past weekend at our club race. and the HW 60A esc is only $80! , and it took TQ and win in both 13.5 and 17.5, the low end grunt and top end of that sofrware is incredible!.. i thought the Mamba had punch, but boy.. Please castle we need a turbo
