1/12 Arms
Got an answer back from Josh Cyrul on the shorter arms.
Go to page 23 of the Cyrul thread.
Basically, he said they make the car transition faster and carry more corner speed.
Josh is the man.

Rob what's up? Hey can you get in contact with Alexe's Dads store they want to get some of the bumpers. TQ hobbies (407) 339-1899.
everione: the bulkheads are not the the 1/12 ones (at least it's not what I was told) they will most likely show up as an option and maybe in a re-incarnation of the car.
here is the set up.
front:
Violete springs
30wt oil
2 holes open
blade sway bar set at 60 deg.
shocks mounted on outer hole on arm
#3 hole on tower (carpet tower)
6deg caster blocks
0 Kick up
standard roll center
1.5 deg camber
droop ser to 2 on hudy blocks
camber link mounted on new hole on bulhead spaced 4mm up. (Andres Mayberg was using the standard hole on tower)
4mm ride heith
Jaco purple/orange at 2.25"
0 toe
diff set medium
Rear:
Violete springs
30wt oil
2 holes open
No sway bar
shocks mounted on #4 on tower and middle hole on arm.
camber link on inner hole on block and standard hole on bulkhead.
0 deg kick up
standard roll center
2 deg of camber
droop set to 4 on hudy blocks
1 deg tow in
4mm ride heith
Jaco purples at 2.25"
Stratus 2.0
Paragon: Hole in rear half in front
the front tires was cut down 1/2 mm so they would not touch the lower shock mount.

Side note: The fact that Alex is such a consistant driver, and the fact that he is able to adapt to the conditions so well made it easier for me to set him up, because you would phisically see what the changes did. A lot of the time was spent trying to get the car to keep up the courner speed. Also Alex was very receptive and willing to listen when I sugested a change in the line or aproach into the curb and actually tryed it, We kept what worked and forgot about what didn't.

pucho,
What suspension arms were you using? Regular or 1/12 scale?
Thanks

Regulars, we felt like the car had too much roll with the short arms. Jilles car had so much roll on it that after one run the edges of the chassis where covered in foam material that it had picked up from the track.

Pucho - I want to try that setup at my next race. What would you change if you had to run 5 mm min ride height? I have a ride height minimum of 5 at this race. (kinda wacked if you ask me, along with a min body height) Also, is the 30 wt oil the stock xray oil?
Thanks,
John

Oil is the stock X-ray stuff.
Try it out with the 5mm ride heith it should work ok. the reason we ran 4 is because 1st it's alowed also the greated ammount of tracktion calls for a lower heith to prevent traction rolling.
If you feel that the car is rolling too much you could go up to a purple spring, go to a harder settign on the swaybar, use a longer camber link in the rear (using the bridge)You could also runn less droop (numerically higher) maybe to to like 3 in front and 5 in the rear.
Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. I wish I could run 4 but cause of the rules you cant. One thing that I did notice right away is that I am running a rear sway bar. If I remove this than I should be getting more rear traction. Jaco Orange/purple front and purple rear is what I run as well. More I look at it, our setups look remarkably similar

John- if you run 5mm ride height then you must compensate on the droop because Pucho used the guage instead of actual droop. If he was running 1.5mm of actual droop and you set your ride height to 5mm with the same droop guage settings you will only have .5mm of droop (downtravel) at the wheel.
Pucho- did you guys try raising the hinge pins in the front? I did it the other day on a tight carpet track and raising the roll centers lessened the roll moment which made the car feel like it didn't need any (or as much) swaybar in the front. Smoother without less traction is how I would describe it.

BigDog: When we did the car seamed to brake in the corners. It didn't wan't to carry as much speed.

Yes it was the 1.77 pulleys and the gearing of the top of my head was 128/31 the roll out was a .96 for the bianary for the Monster a 1.0 worked good
