I'm using a few of these Heli servos Align DS620. .07 and I think 180 oz torque at 6v. I've got two, one in my rc8b and rc8t on the throttle since I run 7955 on steering. Running one in the slash and one in the b4.

They have titanium gears and run for $65.

Save your money and buy a hitec. Or go buy a Hobbico CS-170 and get a similar servo for less money... without the great Hitec service/warranty.

I'd save my money and buy the Hitec.

10kg is for 4.8v. It's 12kg for the 6V (166 oz)

I've used it on my RC8e with no problems. If you don't mind used ones, I've seen a few Hitec 5955 for around the same price. My 5955 burnt out on my truggy and will be sending it to Hitec to have them look at it.

Servos are the one area you can't skimp. Buy top of the line right away.

Quick questions relevant to the topic (trying not to hijack).

I am new to this sport and go by what I read and what others with more experience tell me. So when I ask this question, it's not from a point of argument but rather seeking knowledge.

How does/can .1 sec. speed difference over 60* really be that critical? It almost seems too miniscule.

The second is if one is going to go with a great servo, wouldn't it be better to go with a JR servo that is already Lipo ready? Why go Hitec and digital and still have a regulator or can you get a digital like the 7955 and not need a regulator for Lipo?

I myself end up turning my steering speed down anyways...so speed doesn't matter to me at all...except it seems the only good servos I will trust just happen to be fast as well..I buy the 7955's for their durability above all else, as at the end of the day a broken servo is useless and a major PITA.....Hitec vs JR, well from everything I have seen the JR's just don't hold up nearly as well as the Hitec's do..Lipo ready or not they just dont hold up as well as the Hitec's do......

You sure about that? Big planes are heck on servos. Shoot, they use three 7955's ganged together for one rudder! I thought 1 servo would have enough power to snap balsa?
