What kind of budget are you looking at? Do you want new or is second hand an option?

Each brand of car has their good points and bad points. Some carry better corner speed ,some have better traction , some have moore stearing (you get the point). I personaly like the hotbodies cyclone best, it suits my driving style better than the others. Also parts are easy to find and working on the car is easy.

with all the internet access we have to our disposal i'd say any of the top 5 cars is a good choice cause getting parts are a click away, but for myself i've owned a tc5, cyclone, yokomo, and a tamiya 416 and the 416 has been the best i've ever had hands down. i believe there will be more changes since lipo is now legal everywhere but the real question is do you want high caliber chassis or a good touring chassis thats easier on budget??? tamiya makes 2 cars the ta05v.2 and tb03 which are both awesome entry level cars that can be seriously upgraded or you can get a more factory style tourer that pretty much has all the options for straight up racing. just take your time in choosing and explore your options well there are deals everywhere you just have to find them and rctech is a great place to find an inexpensive high level tourer for a decent price just go look!!! good luck bro and remember to take your time and be frugal.

Very well put! I too drive a cyclone tc and in the 2 weeks I've had it and I absolutely love it! I previously owned a t2 and it too was a great car, but the cyclone fits my driving style so much better! As it's been said it really comes down to you. If you've been doing this awhile then I'd personally recommend the cyclone tc. If you haven't and you're not sure you're going to stick with it, you can always go the cyclone s route and upgrade if you stick with it. Keep in mind though that upgrading will always more then likely cost you more in the long run, but it's always an option. My only complaint with the cyclone a d it's not really the cyclone itself, is there's absolutely no support at my lhs for hot bodies. Although the owner will order anything I want and I'll have it in a few days. Therefore I have to keep my spares on hand then I would have with my t2. So, that should be one of your largest deciding factors in my opinion, buy what your lhs supports! Plus, it's usually alot easier to get setup help as well!

i didnt mention the xray cars cause that luxury shizat is just bs to me i dont see how paying over 50 dollars for one universal assembly justifies those cars. if you're paris hilton rich then go for it, but i'd stick to the usual suspects and yes that cyclone tc is 1 bad mothafuka. i had 3 cyclones and they were all badass but i love my 416we too much to change.

their is a reason Tamiya wins most all of the world/pro level events
ta05v2,tb03 trf416...they are all pretty much set-up for you.....a few tweaks to your driving style and you will be on your way. Great support, great product, lots of threads here to build knowledge from and more....Go tamiya..you will never look back....

and how many xray guys jump to the tamiya camp.......after they have run their xray for a while....they eventually jump ship...Those VERY expensive Xray parts will wear you down after a while......

Listen to Fat, we go way back and he knows. I got away from Tamiya and ran a Cyclone tc, pretty good car, but I had to have a tamiya again, bought a clean 415msx MR edition for 200 bucks shipped and a TON of parts, it is a sweet car and like the earlier poster stated, this car just feels right for me! So remember buying a used high end car is always a option!

Tamiya 416x or XRay 2010 - because they are new and cost lots of money.
