It's quite simple Donoman, the L2 is a wide car, 235mm wide, while the L3 is a narrow car at 190mm. It's slower down the corners, way slower! It's still faster than a touring car though. Some of us built our own L2-L3 hybrids, using the triple shock and centered motor setup from the L3 on an L2, creating a very potent chassis. The man to talk to about that is Marka, he has an excellent article including how to build the car and how to set it up.

Many of us haven't switched to the tri-shock rear end, too, because of the simplicity of the older system - with the tri-shock system there is more maintenance needed, a bit more fussiness with the shocks to get it tweaked right, etc.
I like just adjusting the two tweak screws and I'm done. . .call me lazy!

6 cells is more fun - to me.
It also means I only need one type of pack - I can run my 6 cell saddle packs end-to-end in my slowdan or side-by-side in my pan car. . .
and it's FAST.

Hey guys, I thought Id let you see an excerpt from a PM I just got from Ron Meloni:
How cool is that??? A race that isnt even supposed to take place until a year from now is "the buzz" in South Texas!!! I hope its getting that kind of response elsewhere...
On a different note, your race is kinda the "Buzz" here in South Texas. I've talked to tons of people regarding the event at every race I attend, and it's amazing to watch them get excited about getting back out with a pan car again. Hopefully the enthusiasm continues. We have another Southwest Series race in a couple of weeks, and the Texas Biggie at the end of May, both of which will be good opportunities to spread the word.

46 days left we need to get the 10 more. The thing is we only “at this time” 1 car behind the only class that has 6 cars. That is the 1/12 th mod.
I know of 3 more that are signing up but I do not want to take the chance. It would be nice to get the biggest class at the nat’s.
For the Nor Cal guys I start a yahoo group to help with planning of road trip for us to get everyone to show up at one time to get the car count. This will show how the class use to be and how it can be.

Hi !, it took me like ... 5 days to browse and read the pan 10th threads on this Forum, lots of info, I have raced pan 10 in the past and miss it alot, I have been trying to restart pan 10 at our local club for sometime now, but the Sedan craze is too strong here in Ottawa, Canada.
-who are the manufacturers that are still making 235mm 1/10 electric pan car bodies besides Hotbodies and Dahms ?
I know serpent makes them but they are heavy weight 235mm (Nitro), I have a few unpainted bodies but I am looking for other options .. mainly looking for a unpainted P35... I have AE Nissan 92 GTP and a Hotbodies Toyota GT1 already.
-Who makes a lower graphite pod plate for a L2 (irs, Niftech ?)
I strongly support 1/10th pan 190mm to 235mm

Hello,
Mcallister makes some really cool 235mm GTP bodies. The Toyota and the Jaguar come to mind.
ON the lowered pods-I am sure you can find them from Niftech and IRS as you mentioned. I just built my 200mm Speedmerchant Speed Spec sedan over the weekend. I cannot wait to run it. I mounted a 190mm Parma Opel body on it-but it looks pretty stupid with the rear wheels sticking out!!

Yeah ! , I have checkout that forum, there isnt alot of activity on there but Ill keep it in mind.
The only pan cars that I still own are : L2 and L3 .. the L3 as got a Protoform/Proline Porche GT1 body on it, but I may use my Hotbodies Mclaren F1 instead. I have installed all my electronics on my L2 and completing it tonight and hopefully bring back pan 10th racing in Ottawa.
Thanks for the info !
Ill definately take a look at Mcallister bodies.
