We were still using the sauber mercededes overhere as MIX bodies made reproductions a few years ago. But it is good he's back and i heard he has some new idea's as well.
Good body with good amount of steering on speed. With a gurney and front wing attached you really can dial in a very high amount of overall downforce if you desire to do so. With the front wing atached it looks real good as well.
My mercedes from last year.
My Mercedes for this year. Still have to put the front wing on. Season wil start in april.

I believe that Alexander took a 1/8th scale wing and made it fit to the body. That's RC modelling hey, see things and make them fit. There is not always an "out-of-the-box" solution for things.
That is what keeps this hobby interesting I believe...

I'm excited to run a variation of what you guys are running with a group of us here in the US and I don't mean to sound ungrateful for the help or tips. Just thought I would ask.

The gurney at the back is indeed a 1/8 scale gurney made to fit. Even though i made it adjustable in height I believe the best balance of downforce vs drag is to have it as low as on the blue car.
Making decals can take a long time indeed. It is actually very gratifying once you found just the right one. I have done a Rothmans Porsche paint scheme some time ago (Serpent 235mm Porsche 962 shell) and it took me a long time to finish it. Looking up livery, printing, getting them down to size etc etc but it was fun to do it.
The decals on the blue car were done by a fellow driver on some kind of vinyl. The letters are plotted one by one so had to put them on the shell one by one as well. Tedious job but it is worth it once it is done and you have a good looking shell on the circuit.
My problem is always that the nice shells get thrashed fast! Paint an ugly shell and it seems to last longer .
