Just got a nova 21 pinched motor from the bay..It's so tight that my box wont turn it..also tried the heat gun and had that thing smoking..lol..still wont turn it..any great ideas??

pinched by os rocket or did someone use a clamp ring?
try to heat the engine with the glowplug removed and fill the engine with aro then spin it with the starter box,keep a rag on top of the head.
next time use rayaracing
and be prepared to replace the rod once broken in.

I know this will sound rough but I will roll up a piece of 600 grit snad paper and spin the piston in the paper lightly sanding it. Do it little by little where you dont over do it. Before you test fit the piston to the sleeve be sure to wash the sand paper residue off the piston. Hope this helps.

I had th same problem once, I dont know what heat gun you use, mine works really good ($8 bux harbor freight) anyway, i had to heat it over 200, i then turned the piston till it was at the top of its stroke and let the motor kool all the way down, once at the top of the stroke, i would heat it up prob 4 more times to around 200-220 and let kool down,after that i was able to fire up the car.. that helped releive the over pinch enuff for me to get it running..

Isn't it bad to stretch your sleeve in this manner? Perhaps stretching it more than it really required?

I understand sometimes things don't go "right" and you have to improvise; but this doesn't look like a rock-solid recommendation.

Its not bad, basically most people pre heat there engines to fire them up when new anyway, ive always heated mine to around 150 when new.. the heat expands the sleeve, and you can move the piston to the top of the stroke, so by doing that several times it will basically keep the sleeve from being to tight. same priciniple when you break in a motor and they say never leave piston at tdc, you will loose pinch quicker, but in this case, he needs to loose pinch..

the rod should be ok from heating the engine up and putting it at the top of the stroke, however that is alot of stress on the piston on cool down. you could misshape the piston,or break the piston skirt,... or the entire piston for that matter, i dont think it would but there is a possability of that happening
