cooling head protector?
I am about to break in a ninja and i was wondering what i could put on top my cooling head to protect it from scraches and such.
I was thinking a tie wrap with fuel tubing through some of the holes that are drilled in the head. But will the tie wraps melt?

Tie wraps won't melt, on road racers use this all the time. Off roaders didn't used to do this because it caused the heads to dig in to the dirt but heads like the V-spec and Ninja have negated that reason (they dig in).

put your old vspec head on it

dont flip over...

meh.. What concerns you, resale value? Run it till it drops. Leave the protectors off and use it as motivation not to crash.

You can always buy an aftermarket cooling head like the O'Donnell, Fioroni, Trinity, and Werks heads if you don't want to damage your original cooling head.

Since your breaking it in you could use a sock to cover it.
Unless it goes against your engine break in ritual.

I did the zip tie thing for a while, but they kept breaking off. Now i just go with out and try to keep it rubber side down.
