Default 1st Race with BRB

I m very very impressed and satisfied with my BRB during my first race using it last weekend. It was a big race here in my country with participants from several South east Asian countries. I qualified 3rd in the A main and finished 5th in the final. I could have finished in a better position if hadn't somebody bump me from behind during the start and broke my rear arm and shocks. I was the only one using 3 ports everyone else was using 5 ports. The bottom end and top end was crazy. The BRB was in NSR case with stock crankshaft. However, initialy during 5 mins heat I just couldn't get 5 mins on one tank and thats with 98-105 deg C tuning. During the remaining heats I lean out the top and managed 5 min 30 sec to 6 mins with a temp of 140-146 deg temp with no indication of over heating. It was really amazing because if I use normal Nova P/S I sure already fried the engine. After the race I inspect the engine and its still stuck at TDC.

Well done Dameetz. These are the results people like to see. A normal racer doing well. Not Top Team drivers. At the start once we got to about 250degF temperature we were worried about going higher. But now we are starting to worry. The engine purred away at 280degF and was clearly still running slightly rich .

Hi Dameetz. Congratulation and thanks a lot with great result.
Thanks a lot for info. I do expect similar performance from every single set. To reduce temp ( in case if this is bother you, just add .1 mm shim and it should reduce temp by 15-20 F.
Number of ports doesn't change a thing-I was telling this from the very begginning. With Shnurle porting 3 ports are the best configuration. On 21 engines 3 ports will be faster too, but it will not make run time-this is why 21 engines has much more then 3 ports.
Power is in materials and ports configuration, not in cuts on ports and ports ###. Many times already been proven that plain (as stock looking sleeve) generate much more power then modded, on top of it, every hole or modding costs money to make and it is extra expences.
BTW, on Airtronics race 3 of BRB sets were in expert A-mains and one in amature A-main. Unfortunately for any other reasons then motor performance no one get trophy. At airtronics was big presentation of powerplants-JPs, Megas, Novarossi, Top and it was realy hard to get to A-mains and we did it.
Thanks a lot to everybody who was running our sets for great results and support.
I was testing there Bi-metall sleeve and on one of qualifier we run engine 380F, then after main I took it off and showed to a lot of people if anything happenned to it-nothing, it still in perfect condition even we run already 2 gallons on it. Our biggest conscern-metall joint-withstend temperature, stress, time, detonation etc.

i am using a modified RB carb on mine. They are a perfect fit as are the standard nova carbs. However, we found that the novamega carb didnt seal properly in the neck. You need to add a second o-ring for them.

The shims in the PS12 are different to nova shims. They are a lot smaller in diameter.

For Florida I will sugest to use 0.4 mm or even 0.5 mm shimming. Talk to Peter Breton-he got shims, if not I will send you some.
Needles settings are-pretty lean on bottom and mild reach on top. Use #8 glow plug.
