Have you guys seen this web special http://www.shopatron.com/product/pro...0.1922.0.0.0.0 ?? I've been looking for a nice servo and this one looks awesome cept for the plastic gear parts. Will the metal gears from the 2123 fit in it? The 2123 looks identical to the 2113 except for that difference (and about an $80 price difference!). Also, will this servo work with a non KO receiver such as hitec or JR? The 7.2v lead just taps into the battery?

The gears are plastic and will break if hit hard. They are good, but not what I'd want in my car in a main.

Yeah I know, what I was wondering is if the metal gears from what looks like its bigger brother will fit into the plastic geared model, cause they're only $17.50. $40 + 17.50 = 57.50 for an awesome servo! Assuming the metal gears will fit...

Since the servo is a 7.2V servo it would be going into a EP. Unless you run without any servo savers, I would not worry too much about the plastic gears. I have never had any problems with plastic gears on EP.

The metal gears are nice, but what you shouldn't forget is that even with a metal geared servo you will find one of the internal gear is plastic.....this is the sacrifical part!

I see it mentions a "7.2v lead". I have never seen this in a servo, and I am guessing that is the extra wire next to the connector in the picture??? What I need to know is that is this legal for racing? How do you hook it up? Does it operate at 7.2 volts? Please help me out on this, because I haven't had any experience with a servo like this, and I need a good steering servo.

Yes, it's legal for racing. You plug that extra wire into the speed control. It does operate at 7.2 volts, rather than 6 to make the servo motor more powerful.

Ok, when you say "you plug it into your esc", that is a very general statement. I have a LRP IPC Pro Sport, and It has an extra Blue wire coming out of it. Is that what I would connect it to (maybe solder it on?)? Or what?

Ok, my speed control says it "Includes additional lead for using Ko Propo FET boosted servos", which I am guessing is the blue wire coming out of it (confirm me on this)? I am also guessing I just solder that wire to the lead on the servo (confirm me on this one), and then everything will be working perfectly?

Yep, that's the FET lead, but I don't know if you would solder it on as I've never used a servo with such a lead.

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is an EP? I'd be putting the servo in my XRay T1 Evo 2 which does have a built in servo saver.

I'm also confused about the 7.2v lead. My speed control doesn't have any extra leads at all. Can I use this servo? I'm guessing I'd just soder the 7.2v wire into the leads from the battery... but I'm not sure.

If I can use this baby with a 'normal' esc and receiver I'll buy one and an extra set of plastic gears ($3.50), this servo looks too good to pass up.

EP = Electric powered, nitro cars have a 6V receiver pack.

Check your speed control's manual. The wire is very small, you may even have a plug in your speed control.

I think EP is reffering to "electric powered", as a gas car w/ reciever pack isn't near 7.2v.
I could be wrong, but I hope this helps..

I know my speed controler doesn't have it cause right now I'm using a clunky old LRP F1 Digital speed controller that doesn't have much of anything. I'm gonna get one of the LRP quantum ESCs soon, but I don't see anything about them having it either.

So the question is, can I make this servo work with these ESCs by sodering or something or will I have to use an ESC that specifically supports the 7.2v servo lead.
