Default Best Body Protection Method??

Whats the best way to seal and protect the inside of your body? I dont want the mud guards, body post and airfilter to rub through the paint. I heard of shoe goo, but I have had that eat the paint before... So what should I do??

You can use this tape made by Losi, I have used it and it works well. Just cut it into pieces and stick it where you know the body, filter, etc will rub.

Shoe goo will only eat the paint if the paint is not cured. I normally wait several days before using it. I also use plastic screen to prevent any splits and reinforce the body.

Shoe goo is allright if there is nothing going to rub on the body, other than that, its not really good to protect it from that.

+1 IT also reinforceses the body from those hard tumbles, I have had filters rub on the shoe goo and no problems. In fact rubbing the al.tape will happen before rubbing thru shoe goo.

you have to let the body dry all the way and only use lexan paint. shoe goo and drywall mesh tape ar the best. i use a 2in square of the mesh stuck to the body then slather on the shoe goo using a peanutbutter sandwich technique, i do the body post holes and around the front fenders. then just touch up the rub spots with just shoe goo. you'll be tired of the body before it breaks or looses paint, trust me.

i spray rhino bedliner part time. works awsome inside lexan bodies, maybe too good. there are also bedliners in bomb cans that work. just let paint dry for several days to a week then spray bedliner in there and your bodies will last forever

Shoe Goo works well. Use fiberglass drywall tape under it in high stress areas to prevent cracking. Other than that duct tape and aluminum tape work well.
