I broke my Park Tools chainbreaker on a CV pin. I wouldn't recommend a chain tool for pin removal.

The best tool for the job is the Hudy one.. Unfortunately, it's $100.

This works good too, and is a lot less than the Hudy tool. You need a vise to clamp it in though, to hold it. So it's kinda hard to use at the track. But then, you shouldn't need to replace CV pins at the track anyway.

Chain breaker's work find as long as your using the right pin and you do it properly.....you DO NOT need to spend 100$ on the hudy or the Motion Pro...the Ebay jobby has worked for the last 2 years for me and i Service A LOT of drive pin's....they are unfortunately not 18$...more like 35$

the vice part is ghetto imo and the fact that ive seen the pin part Snap more then once make's me cringe when i hear people paying 60$ for one...i would much rather have the leverage of a chain breaker over having to "grab" the tool with Another tool to do the job....and the Hammer presses are a Joke...try and center a pin with a "light tap" of the hammer.

A vise is not needed, it is recommended. If the tool is used correctly, the pin will not break.
And if it does break, it is replaced free of charge at no cost to the user.
Take your getto somewere else, bashing products is against your team moto.

I can recommend steering away from the Innovative Bone saver. I've tried two different ones. Same results. The bolts aren't strong enough grade material. If they were Grade 8 it might work better. But it's basically a one time use tool.

I purchased my two Bone savers about 6 months apart. I waited till they were on backorder hoping they would come out with higher grade bolts. But no. Same pieces broke on both. The Bone Saver works good for about 3-4 driveshafts and then the bolts are done.

dude, its an opinion, hes not bashing anything, in fact i see where he is coming from. centering a small pin with a hammer and a vise, i know that isnt easy, i tried it, FORGET THAT. So take your attitude somewhere else

Interesting read :

Two questions, if I may:

1- Can anyone please point out a budget ebay chain breaker that actually works?
2- What do you replace the pins with? (MBX6 for me - pins are worn out, time for a replacement)

thanks

Paul
