Default Need some 1/8 tire help.

I have been running Crimes (m2/m3) for two years now and I would like to try a different tire. Our track is hard pack with some loam on top (dusty) when it gets dry but the dirt will get loose when wet. There is also some small surface rocks embedded in the dirt that will wear out the m3's quickly.
The Crimes work great just want to try another brand/tire. I did use Goosebumps last year but they only lasted 4 races (heats mains).I can't afford to make a spending "error" here so let me know what feels like a crime fighter but gives the car a "little" more rotation without loosing fwd bite.
Thanks
Jim

Try the J Concepts Hitmen. From the sounds of it, the goosebumps aren't designed for your track conditions. They are for very loose powder type tracks that have have pack underneath. Think SilverState.

I'd go with the Yellow compound. Grip like an M3 with wear of an M2.

Funny. I got to try out a set of those for a heat this year (friends) and they ran just lake a crime. So much so that my lap time were just about identical (sans crashes). Yep they work good too. Looking for a different tread setup I guess. How are the aka city blocks?

Soft City Blocks have been great for me. Ive run them in every race Ive run this year at 5 different tracks. They are absolutely worth trying.

AKA's Soft City Blocks or Cross Braces would be the ticket for you.

panther kd2s sound like a good fit for you in my opinion. I tried them the other day on a track were crime fighters work good wich sounds somthing like your track and the panther kd2s hooked up alot better.

I tried the KD2s and for some reason they wore FAST. In about 10 runs they were bald. I would also contribute to those tires as being too hard and causing excess wheelspin.

Here is my tip...... AKA rims( tall, wide and true) AKA foams( are firm and don't suck water) and Proline Calibers( just great) . But don't tell anyone!!

AKA city blocks sound like the way to go. They work great on clean hardpack, or on dusty hardpack. I would probably start with the medium compound because they give good life and good grip still, plus if it's really hot at the track the medium rubber won't be overly soft like the AKA soft compound is. The best part about these tires though is that once you wear them out you can cut them open and pull the foam out and reuse them in another set of AKA's because AKA sells their tires without foams and they are quite a bit cheaper without foams!

As far as Panther Komodo 2's go I wouldn't even bother with them. I used to run them all the time a few years back, and I still try them from time to time, but they just don't work very good anywhere. They might be good on a soft damp track. They wear so fast on any dry hardpack that it's just not funny though.

I use city blocks up front and I-Beams in the rear and if it's hot and dusty I would go with medium which would help with wear also.
