Here's a hint
DON'T continue to charge a lipo that does not want to ramp up to the set amp charge rate. Anyone got marshmellows?

The wiring harnesses melted together, literally fused. To be honest with you, I was never happy with that box....not sure if I want to reincarnate it or not...might rewire and get a gel cell.

Losi 14.8v 2200mah lipo....I started charging it at 2.2amps like normal and it wouldn't accept past 0.25amps. I restarted the charge and 20min later it was at 14v and 2.2amps, so I thought sweet- maybe I overdischarged it or something.
I fall asleep in my bed which is next to my work table, and I hear POP, POP, I jump up and think to myself OH SHITT BITCH. I unplug my charger from the wall and think to myself for a second. I grab the box by the handle and run downstairs(3 flights) to my outside cement patio, meanwhile as I'm running down the stairs its popping and smoking.
I lay the box upside down on the cement, go back upstairs, sleep for a few hours, I come back down to check on it- and my box is black and so is the cement.
Thank god for the metal box!
Oh and the wires are melted all the way back to the motor, can't salvage it.

Sounds like you may have been bit by the downside of using a lipo in a starter box. Too easy to run the battery down below acceptable limits and have it still cranking an engine. You don't know it till the next time you go to charge and the rate won't come up.
Best to add something that lets you know the voltage or plan on charging on a regular basis whether you think it needs it or not.
Glad it was a metal case.

I peak all my lipos after every day and keep a log of each use before and after charge. all my losi lipos have been through many cycles and work today as good as the day i bought them, as well as my zippys and other cheapo lipos.........

those vids are a scare tactic....and imo they do a poor job of it....they are Blatantly dead shorting the packs and causing them to fail...How often do you hold your positive and negative wires together for the fun of it ?

lol iv burned a few lipos up. and some were after what integra just said, touching the wires. you live and learn. thats not good for any battery. try it with your gel batt(J/K). thats as dangerous
