I know I brought this back from the dead... I bought a cheap $20 sonic cleaner and wanted to clean some bearings. Would you reccommend cleaning with gun oil? It should clean and lube at the same time...

Or should I clean with degreaser then lube?

Tapwater & dishwashing soap. Or any other additive you like that works against oil. But tap water is a perfectly fine cleaning media for these ultrasonic cleaners. Engine antifreeze is supposed to be a "great" additive, but being both toxic, and smelly, i haven't tried it for cleaning purposes.
