Default Help! Brand New hpi k4.6 engine leaking air - front bearing

Hi i just picked up a savage ss kit.

My 4.6 seems to leak air from the front bearing.

I connected a piece of fuel tube to the fuel inlet and blocked the carb & exhaust ports.

When the carb slide is open and i blow on the tube air escapes front the front bearing.

When the carb slide is closed (Idle position, slide open 1mm) no air escapes from the front bearing.

Is this an air leak or is this how the engine is suppose to function ?

My last 4.6 did the exact same thing and i thought i had ruined the front bearing from cleaning it with carby cleaner. This motor hasnt even seen fuel yet and they both do it.

your front bearing could be perfectly fine, if your bottom end needle is too rich it will puke fuel through the bearing. I have an EB Mod 18TZ that does the same thing, when I wrote them to ask about the issue they just told me what I told you.
