At the 48th Shizuoka Hobby Show, Tamiya is listed to be showing the TA-05 ver.2.

1/10RC Cuzco DUNLOP Subaru Impreza (TA05 ver.II)

Does anyone know what is new in Version 2, what is different from the current TA05 (IFS)?

Hmm, very interesting! I wonder if it's a bunch of new stuff, or just updated parts. The IFS-R has the 416 style suspension parts, so I could see them releasing a standard kit with those parts. The 416 style toe blocks work, I'm using those now, aside from the front/rear bridge.

The motor mount looks TA05-MS style.

Mounting of electronics is harder with that style motor mount. I wonder why they're so fond of it.

meh, pretty much a tub version ta05MS. Come on tamiya, we something more innovative. I dig the body though.

The TA05MS style motor mount allows the battery to be pushed more towards the center of the car. That should give the car better balance for more predictability and traction.

The tub style TA05 will likely be unable to accommodate the TA05MS motor mounting position because the rear brace takes up too much space and that will take away space to mount electronics. I wonder if the old TA05 tub chassis can be updated to the new version?

A big difference I noticed that they are now using a Durga style inward suspension mounts. It's no longer has the bridge style mount going through the belt like on the TA05 and TRF415. Instead there seems to be two separate mounts on either side of the belt (ala DB-01)...

I do like the narrower chassis. But as you can see the cantilever layshaft system means you must mount your receiver on top of the servo...
