Thanks guys. I found a V2 with the upgrade parts so I will have the correct shocks but I do have another question: How important is it to have the short arms and 416 uprights that were in the R kit? Worth buying?

I found a Exotek EX05 Chassis BNIP on eBay and ordered it right away haha. Payed 130 for it which is more than what it sold for from Exotek, but I think it'll be worth it. Stoked to start the transformation of my project TA05.

The 416 arms and uprights are the reinforced plastic which tend not to strip as fast as the softer plastic ones. Although some like the softer Plastic because they will give a little more when you hit and their not as brittle. Plus the plastic ones are a little cheaper!

I thought the arms were actually shorter and gave the suspension a different roll dynamic, also required a shorter drive shaft as a result (46mm vs 42mm).

The TA05v2 and 416 have the same arm length. If you wanted to run a narrow front track using A/A blocks, you will need to go to the 42mm. C/C can use 46mm.

does anybody know if the alu gear diff outdrives of a TRF417 fit the TA05 gear diff? I guess only the short version will fit the gear diff, probably the same issue as with a TA06 gear diff.

One is for TA05 the other is for 417.
They look to be different although they use the same bevel gear set internally.
