CS-27 were the tires for the 2003 asphalt nats. and they sucked. They got real greasy after 3 min. and the cars were real hard to drive.

The track temp reached 130 at one point. Way to hot for the tires. I was almost a full second faster with sorex 40r's.

When we were running 27's at the Reedy race, everyone was using tire warmers to get some heat in them.

then preworlds will run either cs27's or cs22's, not quite sure yet but probably 27's. For the worlds we (the track officials) have to nominate 3 tire/ insert combinations to the Ifmar comittie and they vote. There are so many good tires out there like lrp, sorex, hara tires and takeoff's. After trying most of them though we feel the takeoffs worked the best is you matched temp with the proper tire.

The brand dosen't matter as much as the compound. Florida in October should be perfect for 30s or 36s.

We run the CS-27 as a spec tire for all TC classes for our state series. They work well for me in the heat. I would suggest against the 22's for either event, as I believe it will be too hot.

Our state series has a race @ FTP 2 months before the worlds. In the heat of summer ( August ). How long before the Worlds do you have to announce the Tire combo ?

Hi guys
Please be aware about the Take Off tyres
At the Euros in 2003 we used the Take Off CS27 as control tyre, but....
There were big differences in the quality of these tyres
Some had the marking like this: CS-27
They worked in one way

Others were like this cs-27
They worked different

Some were cs.27
Some were CS.27

The ones packed with 2 tyres were thicker than the ones packed with 4, etc etc etc

All in all we found 8 different types of the same tyre!!!
Watch out

This year we have decided to use Sorex tyres. Preglued

Good luck to all of You

We have been assured by the three manufactures we chose that we will get all of our tires from onw batch. The will be marked in a certain way so we can tell. That was one of the things we looked for when nominating the tire.

Tim we have no idea when the official tires will be announced im assuming it will be atleast a few months before the race so we can put our order in with whom ever we need to for the tires, i also got confused is the cs 32 tire for the even hotter weather? if so i meant 27's or 32's, my mistake.
