best lightweight starter box ?

the grey mugen box hands down, a guy at my track has one and its insanely strong, it started my brand new go-tech up first try

Any stater box with a lipo in it is light weight IMO. I'm used to lugging around a 12v gel cell in mine

Hehe. I was about to comment you can take *any* lightweight starter box and make it a porker with a 12v gel cell.
I have a Dynamite plastic starter box that is incredibly light without the gel cell in it.

I use a ofna 10245 on my RC8 with a lipo. If you want a lite starter box, you gotta get a lipo

That Mugen box is said to be the baddest bump box on the planet, a little pricey. But if you can afford it get it.

Ofna Truggy Start. Best starter box ever. I have had Mugen boxes, they are too small for most truggy's (can install rear alignment pins and the truggy wheels touch the ground) and the motors are no where near as powerful as the Ofna Truggy Start. Throw a lipo in that box and you are good to go.

i ran the Mugen box for years and thought it was the best until i tried the Ofna Truggy box.
with Lipo its the best, love the adj pegs and power

Why not just get a good power supply and use it to power your box?

well at my track there are no ac plugs on pit row
Some tracks do not even have AC to spread around.
Box + battery is the standard
