I've had my mostly stock TC3 Racer for almost three years and I've noticed a good bit of chatter in the CVD's especially when the wheels are turned. I've cleaned and relubed all four of them but the chattering continues. I can see play in the axle when the car is upside down and under power so I'm assuming the CVD's are worn. MIP sells a rebuild kit that might solve my problem but I'm suspicious of the bones themselves because of the visual play between it and the cross pin.

Any suggestions on the best route to take? Anyone experience this wear?

Thanks

Are you running a spool, diff or oneway up front? I've had problems with my spool chattering, but the AE guys at the Reedy clued me in to glue some spacers onto the Chubs and turn the steering endpoints down a bit (~15-20%)... also I lube the pins of the dogbone with black grease, bam no more chatter! Only times I've ever had chattering with a oneway was when the axles were too worn out and would bind up (the barrel and pin where it meets with the cvd)
Hope this helps,
-T
