Not sure what your buddy is smoking. Does not keep up. Maybe Mike Blackstock, Barry Baker, and Mike Dunnighan caouldn't keep up in 2003 as they all won National Titles with the TC3. If you like the car it is fast on any surface with any type of tire. Old but proven and still as good as any of the top cars out their.

So that isn't true, Should I get the TC3? I know they have alot of hop-ups. I've heard alot of good things about the TC3 in the past.

I have been r/c racing for 18 years. The TC3 is still one of the top 5 cars out their. Pros are great drivers but if the car is lacking even they would have a hard time keeping up as they are racing against other pros. Parts are easy to get and their are a ton of setups for the car.

Running rear tower on front
When running the rear tower on the front like Blackstock, with his setup concerning shock mounting position, how do I get the ride height low enough? I can't get it lower than 5.5mm in front and that is moving the upper shock mount up and out one from his setup. Do I use limiters?

you can cut about an 1/8th of an inch on the shock ball end...or you can unscrew the shock ball end to lenthen the shock, there for lowering your ride height.
when i installed the rear shock tower in the front, i just cut about 1/8th of an inch or 2-3 mm on the shock ball end. doin that allowed me to lower my ride height.
look back a couple of pages and there was a post concerning ride height with the rear shock tower....coz i was the one who asked the same question

I put spacers under mine. My TRF shocks are a little on the long side to begin with but just one washer under the 3 screws gives you alot of adjustment.

If you raise the shocktower, that also alters the roll center. The cutting of the ball cup(holding the shock on the arm) to allow the spring collar to sit lower will give you the desired ride height, with out adjusting the role center in the process. You are also adjusting the angle of the shock(although very slightly), you are somewhat standing the shock up more when raising the tower.(Triangle, change the length of a side, and you change another side's length, along with two of the angles in the triangle)
