Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.
I see the latest thing is cooling fans by the side of the motor.
Could someone tell me what voltage fans they are using, and what they have them hooked up to.

The fans I have seen are $10 computer cooling fans from radio shack. They are 12v I believe, but will run on our packs also. I have seen them wired to the motor leads, so that they come on with the speed controls, and wired to their own micro size switch directly to the pack itself. I understand on the very hot wind mods that they can drop temps by 20-30deg., thus keeping a hot wind cool enough to finish the round with out melting down all the solder joints. There are also motor companies (Orion) with their own mod motor/fan combos, where the fan mounts directly to the endbell.

oooooooohhhh.... look at that.... people getting interested into cooling fans on the motor... Interesting to see how now people see the light after not considering this seriously a few weeks ago

oh yeah, mounting them on a TC3... check the pic I posted a few posts below. Basically you solder the wires on the battery wires, ESC-side. They work perfect on 7V.

oh well, I'll just post it again. here it is. you can see the fan between the motor and the edge of the chassis. You have to grind the chassis a little bit... btw, it's not my car.

I used one from my Trinity TC3 car stand.Its 5volts and does really good.Just add a connector so that it plugs into the battery on the receiver.When you switch the car on it comes on.

Fakk2 - Your setup looks good but it seems like it may push a little bit with the stiffer front springs, stock associated rear hubs and camber link locations. I wish my car had a little bit more steering... if I switched anything on my setup I would have put purple springs on the rear and tried some anti-dive in the front.

Gonna try running it soon. I tried pushing the batteries into the shaft, but it still has clearance.
Haven't tried balancing it yet, but I might have to move the transponder, feels a little right heavy now in my hands. Weather's been crappy here.

If you guys have seen a recent picture of Josh's car, that's the Radio Shack fan. It's also mounted in the slot next to the motor. He used 2 cap head screws thru the chassis & fan w/nuts on the inside. He then opened the chassis walls with holes for the air to pss thru on the lower part of the fan. Looks slick & works great. All for $10.
