Default F104 Pro Discontinued

Just a fyi, both F104 Pro and F104 Pro w/ LW body chassis kits are discontinued. What's left is the F104 Pro Black Special. Does Tamiya think that's the best value one or they just want to sell the most expensive one for the pro-level F104 chassis?

Anyone know if there is some way to adjust the caster on the car?

My feeling is that the car could do with so more castor to aid in the high speed steering (and lose some low speed steering as its got buckets of that, haha ).

I've heard that tamiya will release a rear pivot post that weights 25grams heavier then the standard one.
This will provide extra grip to the rear of the car.

For any of your bearings and diff balls go to building8rc.com. He is a friend of mine and has all kinds of steel and ceramic. Check out the site if you get a chance.

Some guys run spacers under the rear upper ballstuds for the upper arm, where the front of the upper chassis brace sits on top of the servo.
Increases caster a tiny bit but is supposed to be noticeable.
Others remove/replace the spacers under the camber plate with positive results.

Thx for that, much appreciated. Do you know what is the general consensus to make a noticable difference on the track (0.5, 1.0, 1.5mm)?

Do you guys know if there is a rear axle carrier with 3mm (or more) off set anywhere?

Kit came with 0,1,2 but that's not enough...

Hey Mike,
I made a set last year when I ran the 104 motor/axle plates on my 103 to help get ride height back when the foams wore down.

I shaved off the side closest to the bearing so that the bearing was almost touching the housing on the sideframe then took up the extra slack by putting a tiny screw in the other side.
This moved the axle enough as to where I had to remove material from the sideframe as well.

Not only did this allow me to raise the rear ride height in order to run tiny diameter foams, it also allowed me to lower the ride height when running rubber or taller foams.

Thanks Craig, good call- I was thinking of the same if no one made anything. And if no one else made them then perhaps I would have them made direct fit for sale also

When there is not much foam left on the tire, traction/grip starts going away.

The last F103 kit I built was the Advan Courage F103-GT chassis, it comes with touring car size rims and tires. With the stock axel bearing holder provided in the kit, the ride height was not that bad.

3Racing makes this set but I don't know the exact offset.

There is this too 2.5mm offset:
