Default What body is everyone using

Whats up guys? Trying to get a feel of what body everyone is using. F104 or F60 body type? Does either body make a difference for racing?

thanks

Yeah, I've been driving my F60 and it's flawless.

But I will add that the 104 body is very good too, no complaints...

Show a photo if possible, or try Deans Ultra connections, they give proper room.

You need to dremel out the upper deck. Make sure you secure the battery. I used the same set up and the Batt slipped forward and the contacts touched the carbon fiber deck and shorted. Smoke and flames. Be careful

So you left off the battery lock?

You don't need to dremel anything, but you must use the battery lock to hold the battery down and away from the upper deck.

A strip of electrical tape on the bottom of the top deck is cheap insurance against a battery short, too.

I understand thats what the Battery lock is for, but with the Batteries he is referring to as well as the ones I was using the Battery lock will not fit. I wish it would have. Also, I think it is necessary to dremel due to the banana connectors on that battery. They have the top posts. Not trying to correct people, just don't want to see others make the same avoidable mistake I did.

Redbullfix,

Your wires are routed very nice. Do the motor wires go through the front of the motor mounts or over the top? what is the best way to route them so the suspension action is not changed?

Thanks

Hey Guys,

I bought me a Hudy (109405) setup sytem for 1:10 pan cars which i want to use for my F104. Unfortunately the original ball-bearings won't fit into the adaptors for the axles.

Which ball-bearings would fit?

Just painted and built a F60 shell and it's very heavy when complete compaired to the standard F104 shell 53 grams to 74 grams

If you're using the Deans plugs you're probably not going to have a battery "short" issue against the chassis. The car that shorted was using the banana style "plug ins" right next to the chassis---it was an accident destined to happen!!
