Hey
I need help with gearing and speedy setup on this track (35-40m straight)
In 21.5 boosted class with a MMM motor and gt 2.0 lpf speedy with the latest firmware.

I have tried a wide range of gearing from 4.6 (which I had no acceleration out of corners) and from 6.1-7 which I was getting close to a good spot but it just wasn't working.
I'm stuck with what to try and need some advice.
Thanks.

Hi,

Do the MMM motors need much different gearing compared to a V3.0 ? I currently run a boosted 13.5t V3.0 and want to try a MMM.

Thanks.

I'd imagine a higher fdr if you keep the +20 timing board in it. I don't think the MMM would be much quicker, I tried a red board in the normal v3 and it didn't like the extra timing at all.

MMM will use a higher FDR.

I have been using the MMM with a standard black board (0-10deg) and still found it rev'd pretty hard. I went from 4.7 (v3) to 5.7 and only using 45 steps of timing on hobbywing esc with 930 installed.

Are the 1 Cell motors any less powerful than the equivalent V.30 and MMM sized motor? The 1 cell motors appear smaller in diameter.

thanks

The 1 cell motors have lower kv rating and I'd say a little more torque.

Smaller diameter?

I have been advised by local racers I should be gearing my V3.0 1cell 17.5 boosted around 5 FDR for my local track..

What sort of temp range should I be keeping this motor in as a safe range.

Cheers

Post your speed control settings. I would say 6.1-7 FDR for a 21.5 is WAY too low!

Not much....but if I am the one running it, I will run 1T smaller compare to the V3 to get it started. Remember, MMM has a faster timing ring compare to the V3...it is 10* higher in general.

I will post them later tonight when I get my car
By low do you mean too much towards 10 or towards 0?
I've asked around my track heaps and everyone seems to have a different opinion on what fdr to run. Some are running 5.7 with an LRP motor which has allot of torque, and the MMM motor is opposite of this in terms of motor characteristics , they like to rev is that correct ?

Too close to 10. I would think it needs to be more in the 4.5-5.5 FDR range.

Okay thanks, I will try gearing in that range. What should I be looking for in terms of the Gearing to stick with ?

And do you have any suggestions on settings to start off with ?
And when I'm testing gearing, do I do this with no boost/turbo timing on the speedy?
