What settings were you running? - esc, motor, gear ratio, track type etc.
I'm sure not all your time was lost in speed though.... If I were to find a second a lap I would be faster than any electric car that had gone around our track.

this is the Roar Paved Nats, ran on the same exact track and surface that the Reedy Race was held on, I was on pace at the Reedy, until the tires went away. I can't get near the same guys this time. my settings are all over the board trying to find something, what worked at Reedy is no longer good enough. when the esc blew it was at drrs, max, amts max, supercharger boost two below max, delay 7000 ,throttle delay .01 supercharger punch -1.
the sp 17.5 geared at 5.4, and a duo geared at 6.2 the duo melted, first run on
oh and you would lose that bet. the car is dailed otherwise.
oh yea, and no support for that either

Thats the only thing I could imagine if you are that much slower. 1 second is a huge amount of time.

My FDR with a SP17.5 V3 motor on 10deg motor timing was 7.71 and my motor temp after 6 minutes was 160deg. It was just as fast as anything else there. We have noticed the same thing gearing up doesnt make it any faster just brings in more heat. For what we have seen gearing down helps more.

Hello everyone i need some help. is the rotor in a 17.5 v3 the same as the 13.5 v3 and if i were to put the 13.5 rotor in the 17.5 can will it still be a 17.5 motor. i know this is kind of a silly question but still kind of new to electric.
Thanks for the help in advance.

The motor can is where the windings are, so you can switch rotors between the 13.5 and 17.5 V3 motor cans without any problem. Just be sure to check the rotor end play as the required shims on the rotor for one motor may be different for the other.

Most times you will always be faster with Drag Brake.....learn to use it. Watch the pro drivers and see how their cars slow down its not all them hitting the brakes.
