ESC settings:
4/7
9/5
12/3
13/2
14/3
15/7

I know these are pretty soft settings, but with the 422 f/w the car had plenty of punch. Now with the 528 it seems very soft and picks up speed after what feels like a 2 second delay (probably less really!).

Any ideas? I will try re-flashing the ESC and see if it's any different.

Cheers
Put 15 at around 4 or 5 and try again. What temp does ur motor come off at?

YES, so does LRP.

And will I need the "black box" to set it up and tune it properly?
You will need the LCD programmer box so you can upload the latest software (which Speed Passion has their software update very frequent).

And is the speed passion unit better than the hobbywing? Or are they identical?
I never own any Hobbywing unit, so there is no comparison. All I know is my Speed Passion Gear never disappointed me so far.

Thanks

I run my SP LPF, my mate runs his HW 60A. we are both using the latest stock software - same settings, same gearing. the cars are matched perfectly out of corners and down the straights.

out of the 6 races we ran, 4 of them our lap times were identical to a thousand of a second.

Each to their own with these esc's.

However one thing i do definitely prefer on the SP esc's is that the receiver wire is not hardwired into the esc. so i have a spare longer cable that i can plug straight into the esc to change settings - so i dont have to go fiddling for the esc wire in the reciever (which is hidden away).

Hi

Just tried the latest software using the recommended set up sheet for 17.5t (5.5fdr) and it goes like a rocket. My car feels to agressive out of the corners when you put in the power and also the motor was hot so what should I adjust, should I drop the sc punch down a few ? Will this cool the motor and make less aggressive when I put the power on ? I also have my motor timing set in the middle.

Thanks.

What size track?
To drop the punch take #15 to 4. Continue going up til you get the feel you want.
Hope this helps.

Ok ignore my post earlier as my temp sensor was playing up it's well out of calibration

What's the maximum temp the sp 17.5t motors will take ? with the recommended set up (5.5fdr) my motor was 40c ish so tried 5.0fdr didn't make much difference so tried 4.69,no temp rise and no rise on top speed how to I get my speed up, shall I go lower on my fdr or move the motor timing all the way to maximum currently it's mid way.

Track is outdoor and quite a long straight I guess about 45m, and my car seems to hit maximum speed way to early.

I also tried the SC boost on Max.

How do I get the bost to come on later, I want it to come on for the straight but not everywhere else on the track which I guess it does with either the rpm deley or full thottle deley set low ?

Sorry for all the questions, but confused

Your #13 can be higher...if you are topped out too soon, allow for longer delay..i would go up on #13 until you like the feel.

Ok thanks, so #13 controls when the supercharger cuts in ? the motor has to wind upto what ever rpm set in #13 before it cuts in ?

Should I advance my motor timing to max as it's set in the middle or lower my fdr to get more top speed ?

Thanks.

If its a speed passion V3 motor I would try max timing on the motor. This will at least let the motor get more timing overall to play with to improve top speed. The motor will get slightly hotter though but if its at 40 degrees now I don't see any problem with adding another 5 degrees.
